About Me

Who am I?

My name is Jack Leahey. I am currently on the path to graduate from Rochester Institute of Technology in May of 2023 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Computing Security with a minor in Mathematics. I grew up in Warwick, NY and graduated Warwick Valley High School in 2018. Aside from working at my current place of employment and running a website developing business, I am a really big baseball fan. I have been to over 15 MLB parks across the country with the goal of eventually attending a game at all 30 MLB teams ballparks (Go Yankees!). I was also a former division 3 baseball pitcher at Rochester Institute of Technology. You can also catch me watching college sports games or professional basketball and football games on the television. Aside from sports and computers, I enjoy catching some rays while lying at the beach as well as swimming for both recreational purposes, and lap swim.

Why Computers?

As a typical high school student, I was unsure of what field I wanted to pursue going into college. I had educated myself on writing HTML and CSS scripting languages, and decided to go into computer science. After some course work in computer science, I quickly realized that this isn't my fieldand switched to computing security. Since then, I have enjoyed studying networking topics including network routing and switching, Windows Active Directory topics, Linux Operating Systems, among others, and cyber security topics including being exposed to different attacks in a controlled environment, experience with certain tools, etc. Over the years, I have kept up my passion for HTML/CSS scripting that I have learned in high school by making websites like this one.
